Important criteria for picking a double stroller for Disney
Size Requirements
Disney has size restrictions in place for strollers. They must be under 31” (78.74 cm) wide and no more than 52” (132 cm) long. No wagons or wagon hybrids are allowed in the park. Most stroller brands will fit these requirements. I promise, on a busy day at the parks you would not want something larger than that.
Storage
How much do you need? This will vary based on how much you intend to bring to the park and how much you intend to purchase there. Storage can be baskets under the seats, pockets, parent organizers, etc.
It is important to note your bags and strollers will be checked at the entrance of the parks or when boarding the monorail. Make sure to load everything efficiently to make for a speedy security check.
Ease of folding and size/weight when folded
You will need to fold your stroller on buses, water taxis, trams to the parking lots and in line for and on some attractions such as the train at Magic Kingdom. If your stroller does not stand on its own you may find yourself having to hold it while traveling or sharing a bench with it on a tram. Look for strollers that fold compact and are lightweight to make transportation easier.
One tip for those who drive to the parks is to utilize the guest drop off before parking your car. The lot attendants at the entrance can direct you to the drop off location where you will be able to unload your stroller. While one person or group stays with the stroller, the other can return to the lot to park and rejoin the group at the entrance. Strollers typically do not need to be folded on the monorail or ferry.
Large canopy with UV protection
The sun in Florida can be strong all year long but it is especially important to have plenty of shade and protection for your little ones in the hot summer months. Look for canopies that cover both seats. If they are extra large or extendable that is even better.
Water resistance or compatible rain cover
If you are planning to travel in the summer months, from the end of May to early November, it’s important to know that it may rain everyday. These showers are often brief but can put a huge damper on things if everything gets soaked while on a ride.
Most rides and attractions will have outdoor stroller parking. It is best to be prepared. If it looks like rain, cover your stroller either with a rain cover or even a poncho. A water resistant stroller will dry pretty quickly in the sun.
I have done a bit of research on the subject. Based on strollers I frequently see at Walt Disney World, my own experience and some searching with the tips above in mind, here are some of the best double strollers for Disney.

The Best Overall Stroller for Disney
Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 $719
This is a popular choice among stroller rental services and for good reason. This is a top-of-the-line model that is certainly durable enough to hold up to a trip to the parks.
At 29.75” (75.5 cm) wide it meets the size requirements. It holds up to 100lb (45kg) combined and is perfect for children 6 months to 50lb (23kg).
Carseat adapter (I recommend avoiding bringing the carseat if possible), parent console and a handy travel bag are sold separately.
The Best Moderate Double Stroller for Disney
KolCraft Cloud Plus Lightweight Double Stroller $197
This side-by-side option meets the 31” wide requirement. It offers large, extended canopies with uv protection, two big storage baskets and built-in parent tray for plenty of storage.
With a 5 point harness and max weight of 40lb (18kg) per seat, 80lb (36kg) total, it is good for both infants and toddlers.
A favorite feature is the self standing fold which is great while waiting for buses and trams.
Joovy Caboose Too Ultralite $280
This option has front and back seats which makes it easier to fit and navigate in crowded areas. It is only 21.25” (54 cm) wide. It holds 45lb (20kg) per seat, 90lb (40kg) total.
The sit and stand bench and platform in the back is great for older kids. This one also comes with a seat attachment, which I recommend using. Even older toddlers may need a place to rest and it works better with the front seat reclined than the bench.
They have updated the canopy to include a rear cover, though not as much cover as the front seat still. Storage underneath will also be the foot space for the rear child so keep that in mind while packing. The front seat has a 5 point harness, recline and adjustable footrest, making it useable for infants.
The Best Affordable Double Stroller for Disney
Jeep Scout Double Stroller $99
This is about as basic as you will want to go with a stroller. It meets the size requirement at 31” wide and only weighs 21lb (9.5kg) which is great for carrying around.
There is NO built in storage but can attach a parent organizer to the handles or hang a bag. A favorite feature is the roll up seat backs which allow ventilation on hot days and the large UPF canopy coverage.
The Best Umbrella Double Stroller for Disney
Joovy Cooper X2 $430
This option has a lot of storage for an umbrella stroller! A favorite feature is the zipper pockets on the back that can be used instead of another bag to carry your things. There are also two baskets underneath the seats, cup holders behind each seat and mesh pockets on either side of each seat.
Great for both infants and toddlers, it has seats that lie back and adjustable foot support. It holds 100lbs (45kg) and measures 34.5″ L x 21″ W x 41″ H.
It doesn’t fold completely compact but does have a strap for easier carrying.
Alternatives to bringing your own double stroller to Disney
If you are hoping to avoid the hassle of traveling with a larger stroller there are a few alternative options.
Rent a stroller from a third party
There are several rental services around Walt Disney World that will deliver strollers to your hotel or resort. Rental prices range but are typically around $30 per day. You won’t have to carry your own stroller through airports and worry about potential damage checking it, but you will still be able to take it back and forth to your hotel and outside of the parks.
Buy a stroller when you arrive in Orlando.
You may be able to find one second hand online or at a nearby Walmart or Target. This can be a large investment for a temporary use but it will about even out the cost of renting for longer stays. You may even be able to order one and have it shipped to and waiting at your resort when you arrive. Call the front desk of your hotel to confirm their policy.
Rent strollers at each of the parks
Every park, both Disney and otherwise, have stroller rental options. These will save you from having to worry about folding down and carrying, but if your child falls asleep by the end of the long day you won’t be able to take the stroller with you. You will also not have the stroller for Disney Springs or other attractions outside of the parks.
The double strollers available at Disney Parks hold up to 100 pounds, have canopies and are made of plastic so you don’t have to worry about them getting wet. Double stroller rentals will cost $31 per day with a discount for multiple days purchased in advance. Stroller rentals are located near the entrance of each park.
Whichever option you choose, heed this warning: Visiting Walt Disney World involves a lot of walking, sometimes in extreme heat, and even older children with endless energy can tire. If you are on the fence of whether or not you need a stroller, you need a stroller.
